WORK

My guitar class ended today. =( I'm definitely not sad that I don't have to wake up at 6:45 in the morning Monday through Thursday any more. I am sad that the class is over, though. My Child Health, Safety, & Nutrition class is over too except for my C.P.R. and first aid certification training the entire day on Saturday. Not really looking forward to that but at least if I get some babysitting jobs I will be prepared.

Since I don't have a real job yet and my schedule is pretty much wide open right now, here are a few ways that I would like to try and earn some money for work:

1. Selling Avon
2. Babysitting
3. Organizing homes or offices
4. House cleaning
5. Dog walking
6. House sitting

Feel free to forward this to anyone who may be interested! The cost for my services can be negotiated. Thanks!

Day 100

Yesterday I had to leave my guitar class 1 1/2 hours early to drive home and meet my sister. She drove me to my Doctors appointment in Los Angeles and dropped me off. My mom was there waiting so that she could be in on the appointment with Dr. Lill and Seda. They officially informed us that I am indeed cancer free! We got the proof on paper by the scan results! And all of my blood tests were great! Then the worst and last part came. The doctor removed my portacath in my thigh that was used since September 10th when they put it in for chemo and the stem cell transplant. The shots to numb my thigh were of course painful and burned like crazy. Then it was ok until the doctor hit a spot that wasn't numb and I let out an "OU" or "OW" or however you spell that and my eyes began to fill with tears and one rolled down out of each eye. It was so painful. He numbed it several more times and finally I didn't feel a thing. It was extremely uncomfortable, though, because of all the pressure I was felling of the doctor fishing around in my thigh muscle to try and get the portacath out. Sorry if you're cringing right now. I had a very tight grip around my arms the entire time. Breath in....breath out.....breath in......breath out. The nurse was very caring. She dabbed my tears with a tissue and gently rested her hand on my arm. It was very comforting. Then, he stitched it up from the inside, patched and I was done. It is a little sore when I move in certain positions but other than that it's alright. I went to my guitar class this morning and started learning the song I brought in from a mixed CD. It was so fun because he was teaching it to the class and I got to sing! I really pray that I can learn it and be able to perform it in front of the class for my final, which is on July 21st, I believe. While listening to another song in class my eyes filled with tears because I was overwhelmed with joy that I was alive and doing something that I really love. I pictured myself a few months into the future playing the guitar really well and singing along to songs I learn or songs that I write myself. I almost had to leave the class to cry my eyes out in the bathroom but I held it together so I could get back to practicing to ensure that what I saw in my future really happens. If you want to see any pictures from yesterdays hospital trip you can check them out on the other website: shelsisentinel.stlawson.com. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read this and for all of your love, support, and prayers. Hope you all have a wonderful and safe 4th of July!!

Party Over Here & a Party Over There!

I know many of you from my mom's update list received the invitation to my cancer free celebration on August 23rd at her place in Laguna Beach. Just to let you know, we will be planning one here as well for my Ventura County friends and family. I am thinking about the 2nd of August. We are not sure where it will be but hopefully we will find a nice place to celebrate that is close for everyone here to travel and with enough space for all who attend.

A CAUSE FOR CELEBRATION!!!

First off, A BIG BIRTHDAY SHOUT OUT TO MY BRO, JAMIN! HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEST BIG BROTHER IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD! Next, these pictures are not in any order. These are all the events that have occurred in my life since my last entry. Sorry it's taken so long. Besides a wonderful weekend away in Las Vegas, payed for by going to a time share presentation and all other costs payed for from generous family, friends, and strangers, (HUGE THANKS) I received the best Birthday gift I could ask for. I officially have my life back! I am in remission! My scans look good!!!

I took this picture of myself after I was given the good news.
MY SCANS LOOK GOOD!!!!

This is my Thank You, Thank You God, I couldn't have gotten through all of this without all of your love, support, and prayers, Thank you to my doctors and all the wonderful nurses who took care of me, I can't wait to give back to others, am I really cancer-free, It's a miracle, I am deeply grateful for everyone who stayed by my side whether literally or from a distance face.
Eric & Shelsi on top of the Stratosphere where we stayed the weekend in Las Vegas!
We were going to ride Insanity at the top of the Stratosphere but right before we were about to get on they closed the ride due to high winds. That a bit scary, isn't it? If anyone hasn't ever seen this ride, you are in a bucket seat that gets tipped so you are facing down in the middle of the sky way high up and spinning around in a circle. It's kind of like those swings at carnivals only a thousand times scarier and in mid air.
Mom and I had an awesome lunch at the Beverly Center on Tuesday the 24th of June after my scans at Cedars. I had to fast since the night before so I was starving!

Eric and I on my Birthday at a nice breakfast buffet.

INSANITY

We participated in the Relay for life a few Saturdays ago at Moorpark High School. It was a really neat and memorable experience!

Me and brother Jamin before the 1st survivor lap. Wow I look white as a ghost!

Daddy kissing my forehead, Me smiling at the camera holding some beautiful flowers that Lisa Hardy gave me (she invited us all to be on our team. Thanks Lisa!), and Jamin looking at something, can you guess what it is? I can't. LOL
